Great story,
I'm a criminal defense attorney in Asheville NC, and an older colleage/buddy of mine has been active in his fundraisers. I usually peppered him with jokes like "hope he can read legislation better than a zone blitz" or "I'm a Redskins fan, I already contributed to that campaign." Anyhow we were all at a judge's fundraiser and my buddy brought him over to meet me, and on the way, he's wispering BS about me being a potential talent for the local democrats. Without missing a beat, shuler shmoozes me about how important is for me to serve, while my buddy is making clown faces at me and trying to keep from cracking up.
Still, Shuler is getting good at the politic thing, he was smooth.
