I don't recall the statistic (didn't look it up), but it's a fact that most car-cycle accidents are caused by the driver of the
car. Either the car driver did not see the cycle, or they misjudged the distance & speed of the bike.
With so many people depending on him, Ben had an obligation to his team and fans to ride responsibly. You can't avoid the risk, but you can take steps to minimize the damage. After Kellen Winslow Jr, you'd think he would know that.
