I just thought I'd point out that bringing Campbell along slowly or "letting him marinate" as someone said is no surefire guarantee that we'll have ourselves a superstar for the next 10 years.
Some QBs thrive when they start immediately, some do well with a couple of years to warm the bench and learn. Others suck no matter when you start them. Conventional wisdom says let the rookie QB spend a couple of seasons learning before tossing him into the mix.
I'm just trying to be realistic about Campbell - I'm excited for him and I know everyone here can't wait to see him play and succeed, but we currently really know nothing of how he'll do. We could have the next Patrick Ramsey or Sage Rosenfels or Heath Shuler or who knows who else. Let's not latch on to the guy and assume that just because he's being brought along slowly that he's our savior.
Hindsight is 20-20, but if Campbell turns out to suck the balls, everyone is going to be saying we should have started him sooner and found out that he sucked sooner rather than later instead of wasting 2-3 seasons. I guess if he sucks we'll be complaining one way or another
