It IS a subtitute for the old - and longer to administer - IQ tests. I tried to draw an analogy to the SATs because the SATs also try to measure future human performance (in college) the way the Wonderlic tries to measure future human performance in learning "stuff" only some of which is "book learning". Neither test is 100% reliable. Neither one is 0% reliable.

The designers of the Wonderlic test claim that it measures the testee's ability to learn things and learn them quickly and to "put 2 and 2 together" in life situations. Many - if not most - of the companies that hire security guards use the test for their applicants because they want people who can react to strange situations in a reasoned manner and not just draw weapons and fire.

The fact that Taylor scored very low on the test MIGHT mean that he has not yet been able to figure out the importance of getting a contract done on sone kind of schedule that will allow him to get into camp. He MIGHT not know he can't go to camp without one. He MIGHT be thinking that missing a week or so of camp is a good idea because it gives him a week more of "vacation" and he'll be the starter anyway because he always has been the starter and the redskins drafted him in the first round. He MIGHT think that missing an NFL required course is like skipping a "required" course at Miami. Do you think he ever got any serious discipline if he cut a class there?

MAYBE his "immaturity" and "lack of focus" is due to his lack of ability to grasp what is happening around him because he does not have a professional advisor in these matters.

Or maybe he is just immature and unfocused...

Time will tell.
