If you keep a residence in the US (or have someone to host a DTV box) while you're in Japan, djnemo65, I would definitely get a Slingbox.

The costs involved would be the Slingbox hardware, DTV/cable service, internet service at host site, and internet service in Japan. So, you're looking at $100-$150/month + ~$200 (one time) for the Slingbox.

The most appealing part of this is that you would have all of your normal shows from the US available to you oversees. Don't forget about the time difference and miss a game, though.

That's something I would do.
