Though I'd like to see more from Taylor, it's not at all surprising that he's playing with the second team. He's been given a large signing bonus, he's been given financial security - this coach (and many others, I'd suspect) want him to earn something. Let him earn his spot.
As for Lott running with the first team, now I'm mystified.
