Every team Notre Dame plays is non-conference because they're too afraid to get beaten up every week if they joined the Big Ten.
Georgia Tech is hardly part of "murderers row." They're #24 now and will be knocked out of the top 25 when Va Tech dispatches them this weekend. The Yellow Jackets have always been 'middle of the pack' in a very weak ACC. Penn State was good
last year. Michigan State? Only Northwestern, Illinois and Indiana are worse in the Big Ten. And trust me, before they throttled Notre Dame, Michigan was considered to be on the decline. Only now are people talking about them as being any type of noise maker.
