Sometimes on NFL's Greatest Games they show the 1983 NFC Championship Game (from Jan '84) and the Redskins ran 3 or 4 trick plays just on special teams against the 49ers. I haven't seen it in a while but it was like 2 fake punts, a throwback on a punt return to Green who's TD was wiped out when the throw was ruled forward, and one other that escapes me. Props to the late Wayne Sevier.
Again, I like trick plays, but that specific down and distance (2nd and 7) is not a good one for that play. It's a narrow criticism of the tactics, not the strategy. It's good that the Redskins run it because I don't think Gibbs EVER ran it after Theismann broke his leg on it, during the first tenure.
