DirtBagZ went into this but I want to look at it further. The heart that this team seems to be putting into each side of the ball is ridiculous. I see guys out there just going thru the motions. No matter how bad Brunnel maybe, if guys were putting more into it, we would have a winning record.

I don't know what's gone wrong with the nasty D from last year, and I don't know why the O just can't get some core plays and work together, but I think it has to deal with the heart and motivation of this team.

My solution? Well, for the rest of this year, no one is automatically granted a starting position. You work hard in practise and you get a spot. You don't, you won't. That should show the coaches who wants to be here, who out of the new group signed are core guys, and it will humble a lot of the players who are overpaid.

Apart from heart, I really think this team thought that everything would be handed to them after last year. They probably thought that they deserved to reach the playoffs this year, and that has also affected them.
