A few things come to mind when i see this:
1) in light of the FA vs. draft discussion on this thread, we were in a loose/loose situation here. We drafted Smoot and on the draft build theory should have given him this money to stay. That would have been a mistake. Of course we replaced him with Rogers who hasn't been great either.
2)Smoot probably would have fared better ( and us too ) if he had stayed in Washington for slightly less money.
3) I would like to get him back if they dump him, at a reduced rate of course.
