I only ask because isn't the practice of "stoning" still used as a punishment? Do the people really think that they are breaking the law by throwing stones at a group of people whom they believe are "the bad guys"? In the Arab world, are the youths justified by throwing rocks at a foreign occupant?

Better question, if you're a soldier and someone's throwing rocks at you, what are you going to do about it? Stand there and let them do it because they believe you've broken the law???

That point makes no sense. The cultural sensitivity is great and all 724, but definitely taking it too far. There was no stoning taking place there. They hurled rocks because either A) they hate the occupying soldiers or B) they were just being punk kids. Either way, you can't throw rocks and not expect a beating, I don't care what culture you come from.
