i hope you guys are right about his injury history. but i definitely think he's the most important (NOT best) part of this year's defense. mostly because we're pretty thin there, and if he goes down we're in fairly serious trouble.
Blitzes are disastrous if the receiver isn't properly covered/chucked at the line. not only do they make an easy short catch, but the defenders in the middle are in the backfield and out of the play.
plus our Dline is STILL unproven, and you saw what an ineffective Dline did to Champ Bailey last year. our LBs can't be doing their jobs too. we need Springs to be HEALTHY when they have a maxprotect formation and a burner like T.O. out on the flank. Smoot you say? he's also unproven against #1 receivers.
NFC East: Toomer, Hilliard, Owens, or that dangerous Dallas trio on the field all at the same time... yes, Springs is vital.
