Well, the Texans know what they have in Carr. They have a guy who as he gets into his veteran years, could be a very good care taker. Carr got really unlucky last year getting picked off 12 times while completing 69% of his passes. If he completes 69% again, he's only going to be picked 6 times next year.
But Kubiak is a QB coach, and it doesn't shock me in the slightest that he went out and got Schaub. I'm just wondering why you'd do this trade right now if you're Houston. Why not wait until after the draft and see if Brady Quinn falls to us at 6 so you can make that deal for only
one second rounder as opposed to two and get a QB with a much better College resume than Schaub?
Schaub will
probably be good in Houston, and probably better than Carr, but with all the data we have on QBs these days, I'm not sure I'd trade two seconds and a first round swap for a probable QB when I can get a sure thing cheaper.
