That your board has become infamous? Actually laughingstock is more like it. Bears, Skins', Cowboy, Packer, Atlanta, and New Orleans boards (to name but a few) are getting incredible enjoyment at, well, laughing at the members and mods of this board.
Generally, the laughter is the result of mods use of bans/suspensions particularly after recent posts where people have asked reasonable questions about the mods policies. Suspensions have resulted after individual posters have actually apologized (

Additionally, laughter has ensued at both the mods use of bans/suspensions and the "please sir, may I have another" attitude of this board's veteran members. Also, the openly biased attitude of the mods and veteran posters is means for considerable enjoyment, i.e. conduct that is clearly bannable/suspendable by new members/non-regulars is tolerated when it comes from site veterans. You guys are literally being mocked across the internet. Please understand, what started off as "boy look at these jerks" on a board or two has turned into a cottage industry of jokes about the mods and members of this board.
I post this because, in the past, I had some good experiences on this board and remembered the board as having some intelligent posters who could still poke fun back and forth. I truly enjoyed my time here. After lurking for a few days, however, I have seen a board that has changed considerably. It has devolved upon itself and is now one in which the "stockholm syndrome" seems to have taken affect. The amazing thing to many boards is that members bother to return to a board where open discussion and reasonable questioning of mods' methods results in swift and lengthy suspensions or outright bannings.
Sure, it's important to run a tight ship, but it's also the internet. Several boards have good, quality discussions where people only get banned/suspended once in a blue moon. On other boards, people are actually encouraged to respectfully question and discuss the mods' actions. When posts get hijacked (as occasionally occurs everywhere on the internet), the mods dilegently clean the posts, ask the hijackers to cease and desist, and/or simply move the thread.
And, please, don't get all high and mighty and proclaim the brilliance of this board as opposed to others because you "run a tight ship" here. You still have some good solid posters but this is not the font of knowledge and shining light of internet football boards. There are just too many quality boards that exist without the use of totalitarian mods. Sure, boards with inane, spamming posters exist and the non-existent mods let the inmates run the prison. This board, however, has become the opposite end of the spectrum.
It's your board and your rules. I imagine that I will be banned for posting a thread that "criticizes" the mods of this board without first sending a PM to a mod. My response is that I am not criticizing but merely reporting to you the enjoyment you are giving others based on the conduct of both your mods and members. Further, it is my hope that reasonable discussion may yet ensue.
If a ban does result, I bid you adieu. I will miss what once was a fine board.
