In defense of an idiotic statement, SLB is one of the most fungible positions in the NFL. Probably a lot more so than WLB.
Certainly, we wouldn't cut MW prior to this season. If his play continues to decline though, he's probably not worth keeping around after this year.
Here's hoping he's dominant again this year.
