I may be coming off pestimistic, but I think he has as good of a chance of being an elite player as he does being a coverage-lacking bust. It's just that his performance last year was so perplexing. I don't know if it was an abberation, but I'm wondering exactly
how it was an abberation. Biting on play action, undisciplined open field tackling, one INT on the season, it's hard to fathom any reason for these things happening other than thinking that these were always issues with the guy and they just never presented themselves in 04 or 05.
So maybe playing safety in the NFL is an easier position than we give it credit for, and Taylor is perfectly capable of 04/05 performance. Or maybe he's just not a good player. Three years in to his career, we have no idea, and that scares me.
