I need help. I don't know shit about computers and i know some people here do.
I just bought this thing:
Vizio VX20L HDTV Reviews. Flat-panel and Plasma TVs Reviews by CNET.
Now i want to know what i'll need to connect it to my computer and my laptop. I got this computer
HP Pavilion Media Center M7160n (Pentium D 2.8 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD) Reviews. Desktops Reviews by CNET.
and this laptop:
Sony VAIO FS920 (Pentium M 740 1.73 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD) Reviews. Laptops Reviews by CNET.
So i went to best buy and asked them what i need. I guess a digital interface cable is what i need because it doesn't come with the TV. I just need to know which one. The guy said it came in 24+1 pin and 18+1 pin. He said the 24+1 pin was better and i needed it because this TV was HD. It also costs 2.5 times as much. SO do i really need that? Will it make any difference with the computers i am using? Do i also need some kind of connector to connect these things? I think the computer is analog and the tv is digital or something. I really don't know, is it even possible? Someone gave me the TV as a gift so i didn't really even pick it. The best way i could use it is as a monitor but if that is impossible that is OK Any help is appreciated.
