I remember seeing Lonesome Dove the mini-series on TV back in 1989, with good ol' Rick Schroder.

And then "Return to Lonesome Dove" came out just a few years later. I don't remember it but I do remember developing a huge crush on a relatively new actress who burst onto the scene with a stirring performance as Rick's young wife...that actress was Reese Witherspoon
