Here is one very significant difference between Rosa Parks and Terrell Owens.

Owens had made something like $11M in his NFL career. If Rosa Parks had made $11M in her lifetime, she would never have had to ride the bus and take the courageous stand that she took.

Owens has a leverage point with the Ravens. He can hold out until the 11th game of the year and then come back to the team out of shape and with no knowledge of the offense. They can keep him on the roster and pay him for the final 5 games while he contributes next to nothing or they can release him. If they keep him, that works off one year of his contract with them; if they release him, he is a free agent and they get nothing from him next year or for him as he signs elsewhere. Baltimore cannot like that prospect if that is what Owens and his agent threaten to do.

I would not be surprised if the Ravens traded TO to Philly for Philly's first round pick and then Philly re-did TO's contract. That would make everyone happy - except for the 49ers who seemed to want to make sure that TO did not get a signing bonus this year as that team's #1 priority.

What I do not understand is how TO fits the mold of the kind of player that Andy Reid has sought to assemble on his team.

And here is a scary thought that comes from a freind of mine who works for the Philly Inquirer:

The Eagles have enough cap room to trade for TO and sign him AND to take David Boston's contract from San Diego. Granted these are two HUGE head cases, but what defensive coordinator would want to find ways to cover both of these guys on opposite sides of the field for about 65 plays per game?
