I did not say they should have drafted a D-Tackle, but some outside pass rush help would have been nice. Are you saying they would not be better off with Ryan Clark (assuming they re-sign him instead of picking up AA) starting next to Taylor and Gaines Adams either starting or playing situationally at Defensive End?
I have no problem with the present depth at OT, I was referring to defensive secondary depth.
Yes, a lot of teams passed on Merriman, that is why he would have been available at #9, which I believe is where Ol' Double Move got picked.
You can certainly quibble with individual examples, and I grant you that the Merriman one is the weakest, but my point was that the overall constant covering of personnel mistakes prevents the team from moving forward and getting better from year to year. It is not just plain bad look that this organization has been to the playoffs twice in the past decade.
