LaVar had too much talent for his own good and that allowed him to get away with things others couldnt. When he hit the pros and really needed to be able to allow himself to be coached and honed he just couldnt dicipline himself to do it.

RM does not have LA's huge talent and I suspect he has been more open to coaching which will allow him to make more use of his talents.
