I'm a little unclear here. When did Gibbs know about the dislocated finger?

Beacause here's what I'm thinking. If Gibbs knows Coles has a dislocated finger he keeps him out on the field anyway so that the Cowboys are still forced to respect at least the threat of Coles but you use him as a decoy and shift the offense to Gardner and Thrash who are not facing top coverage since all the attention is on Coles.

But I could be wrong
