Listen, none of us would EVER take that in our real lives, why should these guys? Granted the numbers are quite a bit higher, but if you were in his position you'd do the same damn thing. You want to give me a fraction of my previous salary, even though I had a pro-bowl callibre year?
Don't even lie and say that wouldn't piss you off, especially if you weren't exactly happy with the company. You'd go shopping.
Contracts in the NFL are meant to be broke. Mainly by owners, but I see absolutly no problem in a player asking to be released. If I were an owner I'd like to know who doesn't want to be there. I'd try to work it out with the player, but if I couldn't I'd probably release them. Simply because you want people who want to be there. Anyhow, I think Ty Law wants to make money (who can blame them, I don't see anyone crucifying LaVar after his outrageous contract, he's just trying to get his, right?)
