Sirrius radio is the weaker of the two main competitors, Stern alone isn't enough for most people to pay the subscription fee to or change providers. I think satallite radio is the future, but I think the future will be a ways away. You never know, it will be interesting to watch. It's not like Stern's average listener does anything but live in a box and tune in with a ham radio.

Actually, this is a major gamble for Sirius. They only have 600K subscribers, a small % of what Stern has now. That is major bucks for them to shell out in the hopes that he can drag significant numbers of them to Sirius as subscribers so they can keep getting their morning "fix" of Stern. If it pays off everyone wins bigtime. If it doesn't, Stern STILL laughs all the way to the bank. And he does not have to put up with FCC and his employer breathing down his neck over what he says. Good move for Stern. Tiem will tell for Sirius.
