Re: I Kinda Wish The Season Was Over

I know this may sound a little cliche', but if you care at all about Sean Taylor or give a damn about his legacy, this type of thought wouldn't even enter your mind. Win or Lose, Sean played with passion and intensity. Did you ever see him take off a play? When the chips were down last year and our Defense was abysmal, he elevated his play to make the pro bowl with his best season to date. He never once complained about how the season was a wash or that he needed a pass rush to relieve the pressure off of the secondary. This is the type of person who never used excuses or hid behind circumstances. He just bashed some heads on every play. In that spirit I hope that we play every game like we have something at stake (even if there isn't).

The show MUST go on!

Also practically, if we drop out of playoff contention and become lackadaisical in the end, we are going to be screwed for next year. Typically teams that have good seasons after a non-playoff year, finish out their previous losing season strong. The players need that kind of an emotional boost in order to motivate them to get better in the offseason. The media tends to be less critical of a team that showed signs of life at the end of the season and I don't care what they say, the players DEFINITELY read the papers and watch TV in the offseason. Plus, Win, Lose or Draw, I love watching Redskins play.
