Like someone else said, I would have grabbed my wife and laughed at them saying something like "this is alllll mine", and walked on. However, I 100% understand where you're coming from. It's hard to keep your cool in those cases. Just remember, if you need to beat on everyone that is an asshole, then you'd get into fights constantly. Just cause they are dumb doesn't mean you stoop to their level.
Although, I gotta say, NO ONE touches my wife.
