Oh yeah, I wasn't saying that it wouldn't read the signal. Any 1080p display will read a 1080p source. Heck, you could have a 10" 1080p screen if you wanted.
My point was just that even if it's displaying 1080p, at a viewing distance of 12-15 feet you won't notice the difference between 1080p and 720p on a 50" screen or less.
