I think Romo had come unglued. Sure, he had help with some dropped passes (Crayton) but he certainly didn't help matters toward the end of the game.
I think they were out of timeouts at that point, so the call may have been to go end zone at all costs. Who knows. Game on the line, though, he certainly wasn't making great choices.
