But as great as Elway was, he never put up huge passing stats like Brady has this year. Perhaps it's cause they just didn't throw it as much.

Marino. Arguably Favre too.
I still rate Manning above him. Though Manning has always had far more to work with, there was always a Grand Canyon sized gap between them prior to this season. This year has gone a long way towards filling that gap.
Then again, if we credit Manning's weapons for his success, we do have to point out that's Brady's weapons this season are perhaps the greatest in history.
