The coaches know which plays they are and if the protection breaks down and that play they worked all week on never develops they know it. We don't know it, but they do. All we see is that most of the times he dropped back he had decent time to throw, but coaches look at things from a totally inside perspective. That's a good point that things happen on the field that we don't always see or know about.
For instance in the preseason game against the Rams when our D got shredded. On the surface it looked like our D stunk, when in reality Williams brought in the reserves up front, eased off the pressure and left the DB's on an island.
Point is alot of things happen behind the scenes that the casual observer just isn't going to pick up on.
