I know because if I was with some dude I didn't like, the first thing I'd try to do is call and get his ass arrested?

Not really. Granted the justice system is slanted in abuse cases against women. I could understand if he was married to some other woman and she was just some chick on the side. But this chick is carrying his kid. What'd she do, beat herself up?
