We obviously don't need him around. We just took close to a 2.9 mil cap hit by doing this. Just unsure why now when it would have cost us $0 to drop him after this season.

not quite right there. technically we did cut him next year. he counts 1.8mill this year and a little over 5mill towards 2009, then he's off the books.
