Browns | Team increases offer to D. Anderson

The Associated Press reports the Cleveland Browns offered QB Derek Anderson a three-year deal worth $20 million, with $10 million guaranteed, according to the Columbus Dispatch. Anderson is scheduled to become a restricted free agent Friday, Feb. 29. He can accept the Browns deal, or take a one-year tender worth $2.52 million. The tender would allow the Browns to match another team's offer to Anderson, or receive a first-round and a third-round draft pick as compensation.

Giants | Team tenders Butler's contract

Mike Garafolo, of The Star-Ledger, reports the New York Giants tendered FS James Butler's contract Wednesday, Feb. 27. Butler received the second-round tender and will make $1.47 million if he signs the tender. If Butler signs with another team and the Giants do not match the offer, Butler's new team will owe the Giants a second-round draft pick.
browns just bid against themselves on anderson... surprised it's not a 6 year deal though.
