I looked it up and of the top 10 kickers based on accuracy last season only two - Josh Scobee and Nick Kaeding - were kicking for the team that originally drafted them. Moreover, 6 of the 10 weren't drafted at all.
When you come across a guy who can get the job done - like a Suisham - it's best to hold on to them, since kicker is a position that defies all reason. We haven't had consistency at the position since Chip Lohmiller so I think sticking with Nick was the right thing to do.
