Yeah I wasnt too big on the alternate ending either, I think it wouldve been way cooler if they had followed the book which basically had the night vampire beasts begin to take control of their rage, they can act human when need be and even come out during the day, they start killing off the vampires that havent evolved to be able to control it yet and ultimatley kill neville because he's the only one left who was different than they were.

That sounds interesting, and then the alternate ending would make more sense(well Smith should still die). Is the book worth a read?
