How many times have you heard a defensive player after making a big play stating he recognised the look the offence were giving and responded accordingly. Defences get an idea of what is comming it is up to the opposing offence to execute better . It is clasic Gibbs.
Also a good offence trys to disrupt what a defence is trying to do, not just by mixing up the looks but for instance hitting the seams on zone coverage, running through an outside blitz, picking up the blitz running max protect etc etc.
A lot has been said of Gibbs offensive strugles but the strugles have been blown out of proportion but remember Shottenhiemers offence, and Spurriers offence in year one with the revolving QB and year two the turnstiles on the O line.
