KFMB News Channel 8, of San Diego, reports San Diego Chargers LB Shawne Merriman's Mercedes Benz was stolen and set on fire. The car is valued at $187,000 and was found torched with the wheels and rims missing. The car was fully insured and Police say they are following several leads. The car was found Thursday, March 20, at a park in Emerald Hills, Calif.

Updating a previous report, The Sports Network reports the Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms with free-agent CB Marcus Trufant (Seahawks) on a six-year deal worth $50.2 million, with $20 million guaranteed, according to The Seattle Times. Trufant will reportedly earn $28 million over the first three years of the deal. The Seahawks placed the franchise tag on Trufant in February, which would have paid him $9.465 million, the average of the top-five players at his position, for the 2008 season. Trufant had seven interceptions in 2007 and made his first Pro Bowl appearance. He was selected 11th overall by the Seahawks in the 2003 NFL Draft and has started all 78 games. He finished second on the team in 2007 with 85 tackles, 78 solo, and led the team with 16 passes defended.
