Yeah, three days might be a bit too long to wait, but at the same time I dont think he should start texting her 5 minutes after he talks to her for the first time.
I'd say the next day is pretty good because it shows you aren't obsessing but at the same time it's not enough time that he's going to be sitting there over-thinking things.
