Springs and Shockey are 100% commited to playing football. They haven't said they're only playing one more year. Right?? I guess that's my biggest issue. Not the dancing.
I think you should be smart enough and a fan of football long enough to know that people always say things when they want out of a bad situation (Lance Briggs-I will never play for Chicago again; Chad Johnson-ditto for Cincy). He play one more year (so might Shockey, Toomer, Springs, Portis, etc. for all we know) or he may play 5 (I'm going with 3) but I don't understand why you're so adamant about what he said several weeks back but disregard what he just said yesterday (he will play out his contract).

Parcells was asking repeatedly, particularly during the first months of free agency and around the draft, for a first-round pick (at least). That's the main reason why everyone (including the Redskins) did not budge. However, the Redskins (and I'm sure others) did the smart thing by keeping open the possibility to trade for Taylor should the opportunity and need arise. And it did.

Ideally sure something like just a 4th would have been better than a 2nd and a 6th. However, it's not a bad move for the Redskins (or the Dolphins). I just think that if you have no problem with Springs and Shockey doing their own thing in the offseason then you really shouldn't with Taylor either.
