Javon Walker was stinking it up in preseason and was way, way down the depth chart and only caught a break because Drew Carter is out for the year. Ditto Bryant Johnson who, as recently as last week was actually 5th on the depth chart as he's battled injuries. DJ Hackett, as usual, has been hurt all preseason and is wasting a chance to start with Steve Smith out a couple of games.

So it's not all cotton candy and lollipops out in veteran WR land either. Just sayin.

For all of the LaCanforas of the world who love to point out problems without any barometer of the factual options, we are at exactly the same place we would have been if we'd have splurged in free agency, EXCEPT we have 2 young players with moderate contracts vs. older players with more expensive contracts.
