Eli will be the starter next year and he could end up taking over at some point this season. The Chargers will be in a tough spot next year, my guess is they stick with Rivers though. As great as Brees is playing right now, Rivers has more upside.
Did anyone else see the piece ESPN had on Brees the other night? When Rivers was drafted he obviously wasn't happy, but he didn't sulk and instead it made him work even harder in the offseason. He hired a personal trainer and nutritionist and basically worked his tail off. If he keeps that same attitude next year he should be a quality pickup for someone.
