I just watched the Palin speech (on-line and obviously not live) because I was at the gym Wed night and I don't get what the hype is about. It sounded totally canned and the same old party rhetoric I hear from every other publican. "Taxes too high." "Family values." Etc, etc. Why has the media and most of you in this thread fallen head over heals for the lady?

Personally, I'm never going to have any respect for her because of her past w/ my family, but I'm trying to put whatever aside and look @ the speech. Again, how was it different from speeches given at every Publican convention for as long as I can remember?
