Here's the deal. I thought Fred may be the guy as well, but as you say while campaigning he seemed to be vanilla? Actually, I'm STILL disappointed in Fred!
And the campaign trail (and the office itself) is ROUGH. Have you noticed the amount of gray hair Obama has added since he began his campaign? Check out Bill C. before and after office.
I do not know if the problem is the pool we draw from or the inability to get the thoroughbreds in the barn. Whatever is the challenge, we are failing. We as a country cannot afford much more of it.
