I agree that Jason gets this entire season to show us his talent (his fourth year). I even agree that [assuming we don't get to the playoffs this year] that he gets half of next season. However,
no NFL QB gets 6 seasons to prove their worth. In fact few if any NFL players gets that long. Win, score points, get to the playoffs and you're the hero. Otherwise you're on another team as the #2 QB trying to show you've still got the goods. That's the way it is in the NFL.
You've got to remember that the coaches live and die with the QB. Zorn's long-term future is connected to winning. Not waiting to see if JC can become an elite QB who can win games for the team. I hope he makes it but question his long-term viability every game when we score less than 10 points.
