Yes, two playoff appearances in the last three years is pretty embarassing. The # 1 or # 2 most profitable NFL franchise is definitely "run into the ground".
To be a Redskins fan in the Snyder era and listen to other Redskins fans with little-to-no football knowledge or sense of realism calling for JC to be benched, Zorn to be fired, and Snyder to sell the team after a rough stretch of games is to bear the burden of eternal frustration trying to educate those who don't / won't listen to reality / reason.
