Good to hear and I hope it works out in court as these are not always that easy to win. What kind of contract did you have and did it have anything in their about quality of work or to customer satisfaction. He could also say that you did not allow him to correct the issues or he did the work but there was nothing in writing about quality of the work. The good news is you did not give him all the money up front.
