Just look at the title of the article, "For now, laid off and loving it".
These people aren't the root of the problems with welfare. This article just wasn't the best choice for trying to open that can of worms.

So when people like this use up all their money and now find they cannot find a job (they might have if they didn't wait) who is going to support them at that point?
