Not to single you out, as this seems to be the consensus here, but I really think we need to evaluate the weight we are giving to the various picks. We had a 1st, a 3rd, and 5,6,7,7. The 1st rounder was in the upper half of the round, at #13. So many posters seem to be evaluating this draft as if all of the picks each carry the same weight. To me, that 1st round pick has to be weighted at 75-80% of total grade, at a minimum. The 3rd rounder is another 10-15%. If we grade those 2 at an A, the total grade would be a B at a minimum, and that would be ONLY if all 4 of the late picks are given a zero.

I grade this draft an A, and it is an easy call. A B was guaranteed when we got Orakpo, IMO. I was happy with the Barnes pick, so the A was earned at that point. Anything the late rounders do for us will just be icing on the cake, as is always the case.

Sorry, but I don't care that our late round picks had no media hype. I'm not ready to enshrine Duke Robinson in the Hall of Fame just yet, either. He and the other OLs we passed on were also passed on over and over by every single team in the league until the late rounds. Maybe, just maybe, the NFL people in the know don't rate them as highly as some of us on the outside.
