Yes and no. We needed the DE's cause all of them were dinged up but Taylor. Why we didn't let James go cause he never supplied the team with anything I'll never know.
Yes he was the 4th RB on the squad and was put on practice squad. They cut him though to sign another CB due to injuries at that position. So yes if your the 4th person on any position you most likely will get cut.
But please stop with all the sarcasm. He was a decent RB. People are trying to compare him to RB's that have like over 5-7 yrs as a NFL RB. Not gunna happen. Most of us who liked him liked what he brought plus he was younger. All we wanted was a RB who was younger that the team could groom to replace Portis down the road and everyone has to get sarcastic like we wanted Portis replaced last yr.
It kills me how some of you claim all his yardage came with 2nd stringers. Yes they did. but keep in mind we had second stringers blocking making those holes. Also you guys apparently have no faith in our 1st stringers cause all I keep hearing is yes his yardage was against 2nd and 3rd stringers. In other words if he was playing with the 1st stringers the OL would not be able to make the holes for him. He would not have gotten the good runs. Unfortunatly I have more faith not only in Mason but also in our OL. I believe he would have had similar runs with the starting OL. Only cause they are better at creating the holes. Besides if they could make holes for Betts they could for Mason. The only concern someone mentioned that I was unaware of was his blocking on passing downs. I thought he did ok but apparently not good enough for others.
