We took this player with as late of a pick as we could have used to get him. If we put a fourth round pick in we don't get this player. I think the fact that there were so many suitors in the fourth makes Vinny look justified in using a third, not the other way around. If there were only 5th round bids, and Vinny used a third, then you could say that the Redskins badly overpaid and our "GM" would rightfully be the laughingstock of the NFL yet again.
In the end, the rest of the NFL agrees that we paid as little as we could have to land this player.
